Tell the Governor to say NO to Tax Breaks for Billionaires
Your voice can shape the decision about if and how massive data centers come to Minnesota
ACT NOW
🚨 Tell our MN Leaders No Giveaways to Billionaires 🚨
Right now, at least 10 new massive data centers are proposed for Minnesota.
Meanwhile, the Minnesota legislature, with the support of the Walz administration, is proposing to let big tech companies—including some of the richest corporations in the world—bypass essential environmental review when building these mega projects. Lawmakers are even considering extending a generous sales tax exemption on equipment, software, and electricity for these projects, effectively handing over millions of tax dollars to already mega-rich billionaires, at a time when Minnesota faces mounting budget concerns.
Massive Data Centers demand staggering amounts of Electricity and Water.
If all ten of the proposed data centers are built, they could consume as much electricity as all 2.3 million homes in Minnesota combined and billions of gallons of groundwater each year. Unfortunately, few lawmakers have fully considered the long-term consequences of these projects on our local communities, electricity rates, power grid, water resources, and environment, despite offering such generous tax breaks.
Take Immediate Action to Protect Our Communities and Environment
Tell Governor Walz, Lt. Governor Flanagan, and your state Senator that it is unacceptable to sell out Minnesota’s health, resources, and future to make billionaires even richer. Fight back against policies that favor corporate profits over the well-being of Minnesotans and demand accountability for the environmental and social costs of these mega data centers.
Minnesota deserves better. Let’s stop these bills and ensure that Minnesotans, not corporate lobbyists or tech billionaires, drive the conversation about if and how we want massive data centers into our state. Act Now!
