We are currently at the “code red” stage of the childcare crisis in rural Minnesota. According to the Center for Rural Policy and Development, there is currently a shortage of more than 40,000 childcare spots across rural Minnesota. This is not only deeply affecting families but also greatly affecting employers. Parents can’t work when they don’t have anyone to watch their children.
CURE, alongside ISAIAH, will host a Child Care Roundtable and Public Forum with special guest Tikki Brown, the assistant commissioner of Children and Family Services for the State of Minnesota and MN State Senator Ron Kupec. We look forward to highlighting the wins achieved for childcare providers and families during the last legislative session and sharing the realities of the childcare crisis in Big Stone County.
Please join us for this important evening of listening, learning, and sharing as we all come together to find childcare solutions. Our children deserve it, our families need it, and our communities depend on it to function successfully.
