Why have you chosen to serve on the CURE Board?
I hope to encourage more active roles on issues that have a direct impact on rivers. Specifically, I want to make bold and local strides against climate change in rural Minnesota’s current farm drainage system.
Tell us about your vocation/profession.
I’m a Renewable Energy Researcher at the University of Minnesota Research and Outreach Center located in Morris, MN. I’m also the founder and CEO of Kennedy Research where we are working on distributed ammonia production systems for crop nutrients and energy storage.In my position as a CURE Board member, I support CURE staff to help fundraise for the organization so that it can make changes in the environment and community. I also serve as the treasurer for the Swift County DFL party and my wife Teresa and I both belong to the Minnesota Land Trust and The Nature Conservancy.
I received a BA in physics from the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.
Fun Fact(s):
I was born, raised, and currently live in Murdock, MN. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, landscaping, home improvement, and camping. I also enjoy birding and hiking on my farm outside of Murdock, along our area rivers, and at state and national parks across the country.
