Dawson Weathers, Legal Intern

January 15, 2015

Dawson Weathers

Dawson Weathers is a third-year law student at the University of Minnesota. He grew up in rural Iowa near Primghar, the son of crop farmers, where he developed a deep appreciation for the natural world and the strength of rural communities. However, witnessing the challenges they face motivated him to pursue law with a focus on benefiting the most people possible. Dawson hopes to work in public service or with a nonprofit organization, advocating for environmental justice and sustainability. He enjoys backpacking, canoeing, and camping with his partner, as well as board game nights with friends. Currently, Dawson is excited to contribute to CURE’s work surrounding the proposed carbon pipeline in Minnesota.
