Your ABSENCE is requested at the 25th Celebration & No-Show Fundraiser Gala!

This gathering will never take place, and you don’t have to give up a precious evening or weekend to attend one more event. That being said, WE NEED YOUR HELP, just not in person… so stay home, hang out in your backyard, and enjoy time with family and friends.

This gathering will never take place, but we still need your help!

Just look at it this way:
• No raffle tickets $25
• No babysitter $50
• No traveling to get there $50
• No buffet dinner $75
• No silent auction $100
• No new outfit to wear $125

For CURE, it means that we don’t have to find a venue, hire a caterer, contemplate centerpieces, organize a raffle and silent auction, or plan a program for just a one-day event. Instead, we are focusing our staff and volunteer time on the essential issues around climate, energy, and water about which we all care deeply.

CURE’s goal is to raise $25,000 to celebrate 25 years of doing this important work. Your membership and additional support are vital. Grants fund specific projects, but gifts from members like you cover CURE’s day-to-day operations. Invest in CURE and renew your annual membership.

This anniversary has CURE staff reminiscing about the past 25 years. We want to hear from you about your favorite CURE memory or place in the watershed, and on October 27th, CURE wants to you to share how you are spending your “evening off.”

Kelsey Olson

Director of Environmental Stewardship

Kelsey Olson (she/her) joined CURE in 2025 as its Director of Environmental Stewardship. As a skilled environmental naturalist, Kelsey’s work focuses broadly on environmental education and advocacy with a keen focus on rural land use and how that use impacts our environment and climate. Working Lands, how land is used to support agriculture and forestry, is a key focus of her work. She brings 15 years’ experience in public communication, environmental education, and rural community engagement – strong communication strategies are core in her work. This includes two terms of service with AmeriCorps in the VISTA program in Oregon and Maryland and a nearly 10-year career as a naturalist followed. She recently worked on communications and marketing for rural economic development.

Kelsey lives in New London, MN, with her young children, husband, dog, and two cats. They enjoy spending time together outside and finding small treasures in nature. Visits to Minneapolis often include visits to one of their favorite historical museums, the Minnesota Swedish Institute. Kelsey enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, whether this is canning local produce, making kombucha, or other treats!
