Private Equity Takeover of Minnesota Power: What Happened & What Can We Do Now?

People from across Minnesota recently joined us for a public forum to discuss what a private equity takeover of an essential service means for northern Minnesotans. Watch now to understand the opportunities we have going forward to take our power back.

CURE stands with Minnesota’s immigrant community, who are vital to the daily fabric of our rural places. Recently, there have been well-documented reports of actions by ICE and federal agents in West Central Minnesota. You can support the needs of our immigrant neighbors during this time of crisis.

We’re reflecting on CURE’s Work & Wins from 2025: standing up against the Minnesota Power takeover by private equity, defending the 100% Carbon Free Energy Law, amplifying rural voices, and protecting Minnesota’s cherished lands and waters. We’ve fought hard for the people and places that make our state special. Together, we make a difference! Read more about CURE’s 2025.
