
As temperatures drop, many vulnerable Minnesotans face rising heating bills. Meanwhile, a major source of assistance, the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), was halted by the federal government shutdown. CURE took decisive action to call on the Walz administration to act—building an alliance of organizations and asking you to use your voice too! Now, the administration is listening. And CURE is looking at longer-term solutions to reduce Minnesotans’ energy burdens, beyond LIHEAP.

Advancing Fossil Fuel Pipeline Resistance & Community

CURE’s Andy Pearson helped lead a training weekend, Nov 7-9, with the Three Waters Pipeline Resistance Team, COPAL & national allies at the Movement to End Fossil Fuels. 100 people came to learn + build connections between movements to shut down Enbridge tar sands pipelines, protect frontline communities from the cumulative impacts of air pollution & stand up for our immigrant neighbors in an era of climate migration.
