Together our light shines brighter

Water and Treeline at Sunset

For many, November can feel dreary and drab as we slide toward the darkest time of the year. During the past few years, the news and mood have held that same tone and we collectively have borne a weariness. Yet we still do all that needs to be done.

We donate to the food shelf

We invite a neighbor into our home for a holiday meal.

We speak up about a local environmental issue.

We thank those working at the local grocery store and the nurses at the local clinic.

We show up at community meetings.

We shovel a neighbor’s sidewalk.

We write a letter to the editor about an issue that matters to our community.

We comfort a child, even when we are frazzled.

We vote.

We do the 1001 “little” things that need to be done and that make our communities stronger. And what happens and decisions made elsewhere will have impacts on us here at home. So, we work together advocating for the state and national action needed to get at the root of the biggest challenges plaguing our communities and the planet.

This year, you’ve worked together with us at CURE—pursuing real climate solutions, growing energy democracy, protecting our Minnesota waters, strengthening rural communities, and helping create a Minnesota where all people can live and thrive.

In the dim light of late November, each individual act might only look like the flame of a candle, but together our light shines so brightly that we can clearly see the better world that we are creating. And for this, we can truly be grateful.

With gratitude and well-wishes today and every day,
CURE Staff & Board Members
